1. Norbert Regero & Aimé Valens Tuyisenge

Light Association, now known as Murikaf, is a local non-governmental organization that has played a crucial role in helping various artists showcase their talents and achieve success on the national scene. Two notable success stories are Norbert Regero, also known as DIGIDIGI, and Tuyisenge Aimé Valens.

DIGIDIGI began his career as a film actor and has now risen to fame as one of the prominent actors in the popular comedy series Papa Sava in Rwanda. Tuyisenge Aimé Valens, on the other hand, has been supported by Light Association in showcasing his talent as a film actor and in radio drama series. He has become one of the favorite actors in the Impanga series, portraying the character RUKUNDO.

The talents of DIGIDIGI and Tuyisenge Aimé Valens were discovered in 2009 when they participated in a radio drama called ISANO, which aimed to promote unity and reconciliation. The project was funded by the National Commission for Unity and Reconciliation and was broadcasted on Radio Rwanda, Radio Contact FM, and Radio Ijwi ry’ibiyiringiro for a duration of two years.

In 2018, they further showcased their skills in a documentary fiction project called Wamburanye iki?, which was written by a member of Murikaf. Both artists credit Light Association/Murikaf as the driving force that propelled them to their current successful positions. They testify that Light Association has been instrumental in shaping their careers and helping them achieve their goals in the entertainment industry.

2. Annette Murava

A member of Murikaf has played a significant role in putting artist singers on the national and international scene. One notable success story is that of Annette Murava, whose talent as a singer was showcased through the song “NIHO NKIRI” with the help of a member of Murikaf who is also its legal representative. The song NIHO NKIRI propelled her to another level of recognition, establishing her as one of the famous gospel singers in Rwanda.

A member of Murikaf, who also serves as a songwriter, wrote two songs specifically for Annette Murava (Niho nkiri and Naje kugushima), which have become widely known and popular among her repertoire. 

These songs have contributed to her success and further solidified her position as an acclaimed artist in the music industry.

Through the support and promotion provided by a member of Murikaf, Annette Murava was able to elevate her career and gain exposure both nationally and internationally. The organization’s emphasis on talent detection and promotion has paved the way for artists like Annette Murava to showcase their abilities and reach new heights in their musical journeys.

3. Alpha Rwirangira

Light Association played a pivotal role in propelling Alpha Rwirangira to the national, regional, and international music scene as a singer. Prior to his victory in the Tusker Project Fame 3 grand finale on October 11, 2009, Alpha Rwirangira received assistance from Light Association in producing his first song: Turi umwe, which was recorded in the studios of Light Association. The organization provided the necessary support and resources to ensure the production of the song, showcasing Alpha Rwirangira’s unique musical abilities.

Following his success in Tusker Project Fame 3, Alpha Rwirangira gained significant recognition and exposure both nationally and internationally. 

His participation in the competition, combined with the foundation laid by Light Association by supporting him in music production, served as a launchpad for his career as a singer.

Through their collaboration, Light Association enabled Alpha Rwirangira to reach new heights in his musical journey, allowing his talent to shine on national, regional, and international platforms. The organization’s support in producing his first song “TURI UMWE” and nurturing his talents played a vital role in establishing him as a prominent figure in the music industry.
